In Vermont, it is illegal for women to wear false teeth without the written permission of their husbands.

Ok, I can just hear this.(wife) Honey I need to go to the store. Can I put my false teeth in? Here's my permission slip.(husband) Hell no you might see some good looking dude there.

You can sure tell men wrote most of these laws.

I dunno, personally i like the one that says "It is illegal to deny the existence of god." I might just go to vermont and start committing blasphemy, and quoting the Wiccan Rede on the steps of the courthouse to see if that law is still enforced, then get bookoo bucks from a lawsuit against the state for infringing upon my first amendment rights.

Not a weird law by any means, but Vermont is the only state that you do not have to have a permit to carry a concealed weapon. Coincidentally, they have very low crime rates. Hmmmmmm.......

My Granny had some hilarious stories that only she could tell correctly. One of my favorites was about her sister Francis who was widowed and had no children. Francis found solace in the Catholic Church, and never missed Sunday Mass even when she was sick. Her one vanity was that she had false teeth and didn't want people to know. One time she got cold sores in her mouth and couldn't wear her teeth because they just hurt too much. So she sent word with my Granny that she was too sick to attend that Sunday's Mass. The Priest was very concerned, thinking my Great Aunt must be very ill indeed. Later that day he came visiting to check on her. Auntie had her teeth in a glass of bleach water, and seeing the Priest at the door she just jammed them in her mouth and let him in. Naturally she was in great distress, the tears rolling down her cheeks. The longer the Priest tried to comfort her the more distressed she got. She finally asked the Priest to go get my Granny, which he did (to her great relief) and when Granny heard her sad tale she had to keep a straight face so as not to embarrass the gentle soul.
Granny always told this story with a twinkle in her eye so I don't know if it's true, but it sure was funny the way she told it, even after hearing it dozens of times. I wish I could hear it from her again!
