The COGNITRON 2000 ENGRAM DESTABILIZER is the one for you Diz. To torture the American and Russian Mind Control Specialists who have spent millions on finding out how to control the uncontrolable. It only costs US$870,000 as oppose to the millions. And dont forget the amount of time that has been wasted. Time is money Diz.

Here is the description:
Torture is fun, but does it really produce reliable information? When you really have to know, employ the Cognitron 2000. This advanced mind control device breaks down the synaptic barriers in the victim's mind, revealing to the interrogator anything they wish to know. Plus, it hurts -- A LOT. Requires trained personnel for use. Uncomfortable examination chair not included.

I agree, he forgot about the people who think on their own. Maybe the Euros don't know of the American Independents.

Well that is all well and good, but when you need to quickly control the minds of anywhere from a small group to a few million people, it is hard to sit them all down in a chair and apply the device.
Definitely has to have an area effect, and dual purpose, so that when the subjects have finished the tasks you assign them, you can go ahead and dispose of them properly. I guess I could always make 2 devices, but it is just so much more elegant and practical to have an all in one unit.:lol :D :wink :D :lol

Or maybe we have a political system where more than two parties can be elected. Maybe we can elect our independents.

So do we, but it happens more on the State level, than Federal/National. Check the Congressional roll though, and you will see Libertarians, Independents and others.

The 2 main parties do tend to dominate, but then within either party, there are still subdivisions which cover a whole gamut of beliefs and issues. That they all do still work within the same party, despite the disparate beliefs, is a testament to the strength of the system, rather than a sign of weakness.

There are 2 Independent members of Congress: Senator James Jeffords and Representative Bernard Sanders, both from Vermont.

In the UK it's effectively a two-horse race too (between Labour and Conservative), and one of those horses has been nobbled. There are a load of minor Parties, of which the Liberal Democrats are by far the most the significant. Most other minor parties are either extremist or single-issue parties.

Libertarian or not, Ron Paul is a 7th-term Republican from Surfside, Texas.

Libertarian-oriented Members of Congress are Representative Peter Hoekstra (Republican, Michigan), Representative John Sununu (Republican, New Hampshire), Representative Deborah Pryce (Republican, Ohio), Representative Dave Camp (Republican, Michigan) and Representative Bob Schaffer (Republican, Colorado), among others

In The Netherlands it's a crowd-race. There are so many political parties, that most parties are known only to the members. Right now, there are 11 parties in parliament:
- CDA (Christian Democratic Appeal)
- Christen Unie (Christian Union)
- D66 (Democrats 1966)
- GroenLinks (GreenLeft)
- LPF (Lijst Pim Fortuyn)
- GDJ (Groep De Jong; splinter group of LPF)
- Leefbaar Nederland (Liveable Netherlands)
- PvdA (Labour Party)
- SP (Socialist Party)
- SGP (Reformed Party (orthodox christian))
- VVD (People's Party for Freedom and Democracy)

Other parties, which are not represented in parliament, include the New Communist Party, Free Communist Party, Catholic Political Party, Free Indian Party, Socialist Workers Party, United Senior Citizens Party, Republican Party (not to be compared to Republicans in the US; this party (like several others) is striving to turn The Netherlands into a republic), Libertarian Party, Bonapartist Party, The Idealists, Party of the Law of Nature, etc. etc.

I would say so. How many votes did Ralph Naders green party get?
2%? You may have the possibility to vote for other parties, but you will never be able to elect them.

Gore and Bush jr. got about 48% of the votes each. Ralph Nader got 2.74% of the votes. For more information, check out the US Election Atlas (http://www.uselectionatlas.org/).
