 :lol :lol - but I have heard "rumours" of cases where British police used, erm, heavy-handed techniques to control "undesireables" (i.e. hippies), where they (the police) had no ID numbers or marks, and ensured there was no photographic evidence (by removing the media and destroying the hippies' cameras). What the police did may or may not have been necessary (it involved, among other things, causing more than one pregnant woman to miscarry), but no action against the police was forthcoming since the individual officers in question could not be identified. This kind of thing happened quite a lot in Margaret Thatcher's time as Prime Minister , not so much these days. At least the Daily Mail (the leading "Ain't It Awful" Tory rag) was happy! :lol
