Is it better if Politics forum will be closed permanently?

Because here have been big flame wars on politics forum, especially onN-Korea and Nukes (http://www.dumblaws.com/forums/vbulletin/showthread.php?s=&postid=25492#post25492) thread, I now ask for you guys: Is it better if Politics forum will be closed permanently?

This poll is open 2 weeks.

There could be a lot of people that want it closed after they read this... If it is closed I will leave Dumb laws forums .. I say if your used to your mommy protecting you from mean talking people you should not post there.. "Mommy, Mommy, that big bad guy/girl called me a wimp".. :D :rolleyes:

W1che. I agree with you at we should not take so seriously everything what others are saying about us. If I don´t agree your opinions, I don´t get angry (well maybe sometimes, but not often :D ).
But I think at message boards are not for flaming, insulting, almost threating, yelling. We must to try discuss about different things like civilized people. If we can´t to do that, why discuss?
I don´t think at flaming and insulting is so nice at we must to continue that here.
There is no idea anymore if You and Phreak only yells together. Who want to read such kind of text???

K-lib: Even though I agree that the flaming is extremely annoying, I believe it would be madness to shut down the politics forum. That would only make people put flames in the other forums.

On a danish forum that I sometimes attend they have a system where people who flame are being banned for e.g. a week. That permanently stopped the flames there. Maybe something the mods on DL should consider.

I know that and I don´t want at politics forum will be closed. I only think at it is fair to have poll about that subject.

Kon I agree with you in some of what you say but what is insulting to me or you may not even bother most people.. (used as example).. Most everything is insulting to people that are insecure with themselves.. Where do you start & where do you stop when it comes to censorship? Me it would be curse words or other really foul language, to you it may be something less.

Now I do agree some here just like to butt heads & that messes up the thread for everyone else. The mods should then step in and tell them to stop blasting away at each other so other people can have a chance to post..

Hey, but what do I know? I'm not a mod & would never be because I just post because I like the debate.. :smash

I think, at Americans and Europeans are not so different culture at we don´t have same limits for that, what is insulting (calling somebody with humiliating names, decreasing someones personal characters, laughing to someones accidents, wishing to someones dead etc.) or threating (posting straight or suggestive threats).
We can live and discuss without things like that.
I don´t mean at we can´t say anything against others, but I mean at nobody have right intentionally write such kind of things what insults others.

The Mods should warn the people involved when things get out of hand, and if they won't listen, just ban them for a few days to let 'em cool off, or until the thread dies out.

Closing the forum should be a last resort.
