View Full Version : No Cuabas for me!

A definite dumb law: The US embargo against Cuba. Were I to want to smoke a Cuaba or two (not that I've ever actually had a Cuban cigar, oh no sir), I have to take a road trip north. Yeah, I've heard the tired old rhetoric, but I still don't see Tio Fidel toppling any time soon...

And why put an embargo on Cuba, on North Korea, on Vietnam, on the Soviet Union, on Eastern Europe (untill around 1991; I dunno when exactly those embargoes were lifted), but not on China? Is China less of a dictature? Is China a democracy?

China has better restaurants.

Clearly you have never tried North Korean restaurants. Tree bark with stewed grass, paper, cardboard and wood pulp in a nice water sauce, followed by acorns and dog beef on a bed of dried seaweed.
(I'm sorry, that was a sick joke...)

Indeed it was. Everybody knows that acorns go as the dessert in this cuisine.

I'd celebrate anything that killed every member of the Chinese Red Fascist Party as long as innocent Chinese people were in no way harmed.

I just found a German tourist agency, which is specialized in tourist trips to North Korea. Tourists will sleep in kingsize beds (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/yanggakdo-hotel-2.jpg) in hotels in Pyongyang (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/yanggakdo-hotel-4.jpg). Make sure you don't miss the hotel shop (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/yanggakdo-hotel-3.jpg) and the swimming pool (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/yanggakdo-hotel-8.jpg). In Pyongyang, you can always take the subway (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/metro.jpg) (underground for Dippy, Zany, Paul and our other Brits). Don't forget to visit Kim Il Sung's birth house (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/geburtshaus-02.jpg) and mausoleum (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/mausoleum.jpg). Another must is the Palace of the Children (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/kinderpalast-01.jpg). You can also go to the beach (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/natur-03.jpg), the forest (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/natur-04.jpg), the mountains (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/natur-05.jpg) or the hills (http://www.kdvr.de/tour/natur-06.jpg) around Pyongyang.
(I must say, the landscape is wonderful there)

I always figured that was real dumb !
Cuba use to be like just another one of the keys off florida and then Poof cut off and it truly makes no sence !
I was in junior high durring the boat lifts and living in southern florida and from the things people told me maybe just maybe there wouldnt have been such a flood of imigrants to the US if the two nations wetren't so cut off from each other !
