ok we seem to talk about a lot of things here and have several bbs forums for such things as law suits, politics, etc... I was wondering since we DO use the media a good bit in our posts and it IS as influential as politics, why not make a forum where we can discuss the media, its good points, bad points, whether breaking stories are being presented in a responsible manner et al.
mainly a forum to talk about the responsible/irresponsible actions of the media (tv, radio, news, all forms)
thanks

And where would we find any examples of the media being responsible?

Sounds like a good idea Beetle. Does it need a whole forum to itself, or would a topic suffice?

i think a forum would be the better idea as a topic is liable to get lost in the shuffle of all the other topics plus if it get so big new people to the bbs will tend to avoid reading a 500 post topic. with a forum we would have the ability to post topics about current items and garner feedback about that particular incident. a topic can be "bumped" and meander and lose the direction of flow whereas a forum, while still able to bump topics can still be read with ease and the flow would not be so broad or meandering and easier to follow
anyway ...its just a thought i had http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif

Try a topic for a while in EE, if people respond to it maybe they will make a forum then....

I see your logic now Beetle. I suppose a lot of the topics we have are kind of connected in varying ways, and a forum would give us somewhere to tidy them away to!

Great and bad idea BJ. Being as I'm a member of about 30 more or less BB's this has been tried many times. It usually doesn't wash to well. Some will participate but usually only two or three then you have a very dead forum. Like Paul said try some in the EE forum and see how it goes.
