Before anything else gets screwed up, is this a clean drive? If not maybe we should wait before posting so we don't delete anymore of the topics...

On our webserver we have 1.2 gigabytes of storage spage. Generally, we use less than 5% of this on actual web content, and about 50% on log files (detailed recording of activity on our site). Due to a virus spreading around the internet, we were faced with a deluge of email which quickly consumed the remainder of our space. At some points, we only had 1k of free space.
What would happen is the cgi script that powers this board would attempt to write modified pages to the server (as it normally does). However, the script would be unable to do so because there was no space left, and it would simply dump a blank file instead. This is what caused pages to disappear.
Currently the situation is under control. My computer is running on a broadband connection 24/7 to clear the server of the unwanted virus-caused email without me actually losing access to my real email either. Currently we have 800 megs of free space on the server, and so we should be safe to post.
If I find that the board is having problems, I will lock it from the admin panel and post an announcement. But in the meantime, I think we're fine.

Thanks Andy,
So are those missing pages gone forever? Also I don't know if anybody else is having this problem, but there are some topics I can't open period. Guess this is caused by the virus also. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/frown.gif

Unfortunately, what we lost is lost forever, unless someone has it stored on their machine (temporary internet files, perhaps?). If that's the case, send it to me or and of the mods and we'll just post the entire transcript.

Well...I had some trouble with accessing my e-mail until today when I finally fixed it. Downloading hundreds of nice little virus e-mails as I type...

Jeff keep them away from here please. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Well Andy I think we only lost a few pages out of maybe one topic for sure. Two topics did get wiped out, but we had just started them so it didn't hurt too bad. Haven't noticed anymore missing. I wish I hadn't archived the pub, but it got to where nobody could reply to it. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/frown.gif Guess it was the virus also.
