View Full Version : EU section

Hi,

I think that and EU section should be added, cause the create some strange laws that the UK and other member states have to impliment. For example they tell us how bent our bannans have to be.

This isn't a bad idea, bit I don't know where you'd get all the source material from. Some of the clashes are so stupid, but in some instances the European Union is spot-on, eg the WTO insists that France buy Canadian asbestos, but the EU says no, there is to be no European importation of asbestos at all.

I think that's what the Country forum is for. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif JMO Post something under Europe or UK if you like.

I would be happy to start a EU section if I could find a directory of their laws online or an address to write to in order to get a copy.

Jeff, that'd be worthwhile only if there were more EU members (at Dumblaws, I mean). Otherwise, there's plenty of US material to be going on with.

OK. There are more Europeans here now than when I made that post about there not being many Europeans here...

I'll see that the mods and admin discuss it. But is nobody worried that we Euros will be segregated? And there are a few Antipodeans here too: why not let them have their own corner? Hmmm...... K-Lib, anything you want to say about the EU could go into Country Laws or Everything Else... you see what I mean?

If there's a special section for state laws, then why not a section for EU laws?
Or maybe expand it, and call it "International Law" (then UN resolutions and laws of other EU-like organizations can be included).
