So has anyone else seen a UFO? Driving down a country road at night with two friends we all saw this shiny thing like a penny fall into the headlight beams. We hit it and it went through the grille, into the truck cab, and out the driver's window. This was back in High School.
My Dad says it was "St. Elmo's Fire", some kind of electrical phenominon. He says one night he was watching TV and it was storming out. This green glowing ball materialized on top of the TV set. It sat there a few seconds then jumped down, rolled accross the floor, and hopped out the window!

I've heard of ball lightning going threw an open window bouncing around the walls and going out the same window, but never saw it..

Growing up in Northern Wisconsin back woods I've seen some interesting swamp fire -- quite eerie on a moonless night in the middle of nowhere.
Last weekend as I was driving up to visit Mom, I thougt that Hwy H in Eau Claire county would be the perfect place for an alien encounter. It goes through county forest land and there are stretches of 10 miles or more without any houses or crossroads. No luck yet on getting abducted though! http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif

Well I've seen one. A UFO. Years ago. The funny thing was, there didn't seem to be anything odd or unusual about it. The thing was definitely flying, definitely an object, and completely unidentified. Hence a UFO. It was at night, it made the ususal rushing wind noise, otherwise silent, it flew above me, maybe 500 yards up. Lights, all that. No abduction that I can remember. In Wales. I was 15 or so.

Yep seen plenty of them especially after a few beers and some shots. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
Seriously when I was in Texas my sisters and my cousins were outside at night and saw something round disappear in the woods. The next day we went walking in the direction we saw it and there was this big round hole in the ground. Weird. Our parents tried to tell us it was where a falling star had landed, but I don't think so.

Curious Dippy. I wonder why lights? If it was a manmade experimental project trying to avoid attention then why put lights on it? And why would an alien spacecraft need or want to have visible lights?
Why not a meteor Idnew? One hit a car in New Jersey a couple years ago. Cool that you all saw the same thing and there was actual evidence of something hitting the ground the next day.

When I first saw it, it was hanging over a farm on the other side of the valley. I thought the lights on it were farm lights, but I thought "That's a particularly large and bright light for a farmyard". The the darn thing came over the valley, as I said not far up, straight over my head. I can't explain it - these aliens, who know how their minds work? http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/wink.gif

Well Cleoeo I would think a meteor would come down fast this didn't. Came real slow. I know everybody has seen a shooting star come down and they come down fast, but usually burn out before hitting the ground. I believe there is another life form out there someplace.
Another thing when my daughter was about 5 she drew a picture of an alien. She had never seen an alien on TV or anything. That was too weird and I asked her where did she see that to draw it. She said in a dream. So maybe one came to visit her for all I know.

If you subscribe to Jung's theory of the collective unconscience, this would seem perfectly plausible. It is interesting to note that the classic grey, bug-eyed, X-Files alien just seemed to pop into existence in the 1950s, and "abduction" experiences are remarkably similar (even before the X-Files became popular). Maybe there is something to Jung's theory after all...or its group hysteria.

I once heard a great statement on the radio: There are two possibilities, either there is intelligent life elsewhere in the universe or there isn't. Either one is astonishing.
I love looking at the night sky... especially when the Northern Lights are kicking off, that's just awesome! http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif

Not hardly. I simply wanted to know that other intellegent people had seen something as strange as a tumbling penny from the sky. It WAS weird and inexplicable; except for Pa's theory of stray electricity.
