I am not sure if this is true, but children at any age can choose which parent they want to live with, maybe depends on states?
Any age children have the right to see other man who is not child's father if father objected it when the mother allows it even if that man is insane and sicko. As if child say I want to see him, do we have to accept it whether if that guy is bad and father doesnt want his child around him?
For example, if the mother has two kids, both of them have different father, one father is insane and other sane father's daughter want to see that insane father but sane father wont allow it and the mother said, "she want to, but I cant stop her" What can a sane father do?
One more question. The mother has more power than man in the control of children, is that true? even if the father is more responsible while the mother is unfit and living a sloth life etc if happen in battle for custody at court?

Complicated question.
We were watching this movie in health class and a bunch of guys were complaining about why the mother gets the kids 90% of the time. Well most of the time(this is kinda sad) the father is an alcoholic or doesnt want the kids at all anyway.

Not familiar with US state laws.
But I think you'll find that age will be considered, I'm pretty sure that the kid only chooses above the age of 16-18 range.

That I know of a child really doesn't have a say in the matter. The parent can allow a visit with adult supervision but not alone.
If the court feels the mother is unfit to raise a child the rights will go to the father...

A child can choose who they want to live with at the age of 13 now. If a father objects to his childs invorment then that's what the courts are for. More and more fathers are getting their children. My son has his daughter.

If you're thinking of different US states, then I don't know. If you're thinking of different states in the world, then it is completely different from nation to nation. Indeed that's the most difficult topic to agree on international treaties.
In Germany the children can state their opinion, but the court decides after a trial. Usually it'll do what the kid says, but if it is obvious that this part of the family isn't capable to care for the kid, then it will find a different judgement. Although my law books say that it has changed in the recent past and more and more kids are said to stay with the father, I hardly know any judgement in reality that states it. But for sure, if the mother isn't even caring about herself or obviously having negative influence, then the kid will go to his father. Don't know how it is in the USA, but here social workers examine father and mother and after that they give a report to court.
Aclu, most fathers are alcoholics or don't care about their kids??? Thanks for this brilliant analysis of men http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif. In Germany we have about 1/3 of the marriages divorced - then we must have about 5 mio (don't nail me to that number) fathers who are drunkards or ignorants.
