In Finland, markets and stores, which size is under 400 square meters, can be open mon-fri 7 am. - 9 pm., sat 7 am. - 6 pm. and sun noon - 9 pm.

Stores which size is over 400 square meters, have no right to be open on sundays, except 1st Juny - 31st August and 1st Dec - 31 Dec.

Complicated, or what?

You're not alone....

In the USA you can fill up at a self-serve gas station in California, drive to Oregon where it is illegal to pump your own gas.

USA alcohol sales and drinking laws very widely from state to state.

Gun laws? :lol :lol

Pretty complicated stuff, but you figured it out :)

In Denmark I don't think anyone really understands the rules. It goes something like this: Small shops are free to be open whenever they want to, though if last years turnover was over some constantly shifting limit you are not allowed to be open on sundays and after a certain time on all other days, except for an amount of permitted sundays which I think is somewhere around 7 to 10 at the moment. Furthermore a couple of years ago we had a law that prohibited the sale of alchoholic beverages on Sundays and after 20.00 all other days (8 p.m. for the analogue parts of the world). Except if it's a bar or disco.
Speaking of alcohol, you are not allowed to get served anywhere but at home and at friends and family's if you are under the age of 18, but you can buy it in the shops at the age of 15! :lol

Now I confused myself and will go lay down, and think about why did this. http://www.click-smilie.de/sammlung/fragend/confused-smiley-011.gif
