I've just heard that they have found a not detonated british bomb from WW2 on the Olympiastadion in Berlin.

Do any of you know if that is true??

This is true. It was under the guest tribune and it was found because of the modernizing measure for the WC 2006. It happens quite often that not detonated WW2 bombs are found here. In my home town it was just once in the twenty years I lived there. There it was under the central bus station. Since I am in Osnabrück, I even had to leave my apartment twice because of that. There they found them both under an elementary school.

It wasn't even under the guest stand. It was under the stand of the F-Side, the hardcore fans, the hooligans..... And they can make a hell of a noise and vibrations.
It really is a miracle that the bomb has never exploded......

No, the Hertha fans are on the other side of the Marathon entrance. But the host fans usually don't make less noise, they just aren't that numerous. The vibrations luckily are not as high as in other stadiums because in Berlin there are seats only.
I've been there in September and instinctively chose the other side of the stadium (or was it because the train was stopping there? http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/wink.gif)

Well, then I was wrong. I heard on the Dutch news that it was under the stand of the Hertha hooligans. But then they were wrong.

The sports news covered it here. They said it and showed the pictures. As I have been there during a match I saw that they were right.

There's no telling how many of those bombs are still around. It is lucky it didn't go off.

Yes and no, Aclu.
There was a terrorist attack during the 1972 Olympic Games in Munich, but that had nothing to do with Germany.
A group of Palestinian terrorists kidnapped the Israeli delegation, and murdered I think all but one of them.

Correction Phreakmeister:
11 israelis died, out of 23.
and it did involved germeny,
cause germeny refused to allow israel to bring their special forces to take care of the terroists, and they tried that themself (and failed...)

True, but the attack itself had nothing to do with Germany. It was an attack by Palestinians against Israelis, that happened to be carried out on German soil. Germany is only part in the failure of the rescue effort.
