Why do people resort to the internet for entertainment? I see no point and i find enjoyment in only discussion forums. Answer me that. ( if ya wanna see me more, im at the playground.)

1) there's never anything good on TV anymore and if there is, they play it back to back for an entire month.
2) It's too expensive to go out and party
3) Discussion forums can be entertaining, and you can meet some great ppl (it's actually how I met my husband)
and 4) Maybe some people just feel safer behind a computer screen

What do you mean, "resort to the internet for entertainment"? I use it for news, information, discussion and socialising, research, and all kinds of stuff, not all of it "entertaining" in the same way TV is entertaining (on those odd occasions when it IS entertaining http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif). Mostly I read for fun.
So I don't altogether understand your question, Nutmeg.

continuing with what was stated by blonde earlier, the Internet is good for entertainment for a number of reasons. It is cheap (movie tickets cost up to ten bucks each nowadays compared with forty a whole month for high speed cable access). additionally, while mediums such as tv offer a viewer maybe a hundred or so channels, the Internet offers millions of sites to visit, games to play, people to converse with, etc. While the Internet should not be one's sole stop for entertainment, it can no longer be overlooked for it's value in my opinion...

that still dosn't answer my question. My brother has a job, he has friends he hangs out with all the time when hes not picking on me, and he very rarly resorts to the computer accept to annoy me durring my conversations. so it dosn't help any. i want to know why my brother goes online when he has so much to do and dosn't really enjoy annoying me like he did when he was 20(he is now 21) so, why dose he get on the internet?

I got hooked at 16 but I'm far from being a computer nerd. Just last week, my husband left to go out of town for business and when he unplugged his laptop it shut my comp off (because we have the 2 comps networked) It took me 2 days to figure out that it wasn't the computer that was screwed up, I had an electrical outlet that was out. DOH *slaps forehead*

You mean Lish? Lish likes your poetry, and obviously wants to be your friend. I'm quite happy about that http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif People here don't know you very well because you're still new here, but Lish is even newer than you.
