Ummmmmmmmm, correct me if I'm wrong bbut if someone intentionally makes a product that damages private property, aren't they breaking the law??? CD Roms AND software has been made for years to play music CD's. This is an accepted fact.
I know one thing. If I buy a product and find out it has been intentionally produced to damage my property through legitimate use SOME one will pay dearly

indeed, I mean the Shakira cd is protected against use on pcs(easily bypassed, but...)
I mean, but when you make cds that harm your computer and then sell , with or without warning, it's ridiculous....

What kind of marketing idiot came up with this and what bonehead steering commitee approved it? Do NOT invest in Sony Music Division. They obviously cannot see beyond the technical feasibility of producing such a stupid product.

I have a co-worker who listens to Irish folk-metal. I don't recall the name of the group, just that they were in concert around here recently. (I'm near Houston, TX.)

It would very probably have been the Dropkick Murphys. There are not a lotta bands like them. In fact, they're the only one like that I know.
I've seen them at <A HREF="http://www.lowlands.nl"" TARGET=_blank>A Camping Flight to Lowlands Paradise</A> festival last year. They really rocked, IMO.
