Stupid UK Laws - Reference needed

Hello EVeryone,

I need to be able to quote a dumb law at an equally dumb set of people who calim that we should all obey the law no matter what.

The one that I have decided upon is this:

"Mince pies are not be eaten on Christmas Day"

What I would like to be able to do is quote the Act of Parliament with the relevant section, sub-section, paragraph, etc..

Does anyone know how I can find this information out?

Ummm. Tricky. I just did a Google search which yielded one such website that would do all that for you - at a cost of £800 per year for its membership. I assume that's out of the question.

Click Here (http://www.hmso.gov.uk/) for Her Majesty's Stationery Office (HMSO) website, they're responsible for publicising all British Acts of Parliament. Unfortunately, their site doesn't list anything earlier than 1988 (follow the legislation link). You can write to them at:

Ca, I assumed that you were in Britain, as you quoted "Acts of Parliament" rather than Acts of Congress or whatever. Please confirm this, cuz if you're in another country then the info I gave you won't be much use.
