I have to wonder if the prosecuters are not finding enough REAL crimes to prosecute

I don't believe in toy weapons of any kind, but this is just another crazy example of political correctness gone overboard! Whatever happened to letting children settle their own squabbles? Why do we adults have to get so involved in not only what our children fight about and how, but actually make *criminal offenses* of things that were once settled in private, in the schoolyard?
A toy gun is not something I would ever consider buying for my children, but I respect the right of other parents to do so. A toy gun is not an illegal item, if a distasteful one. In my opinion that "deadly weapon" charge has no value and holds no water for the simple reason that it is impossible to *kill* with a *toy* gun. I hope someone has enough common sense to drop the whole thing and throw it out of court.

Toy gun? COME ON! What's next, water pistols? I thought we had the RIGHT to have guns in this country? The "pro-gun" party sure seems to be in charge anyway. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Good God, this is assinine! Is the government now going to take over every aspect of disciplining kids? Geez, at the rip old age of 30, I can remember when the kids themselves-and on occassion the parents-settled disputes like this!
I don't know how anyone could see this is anything but completely ridiculous!
