View Full Version : Licking Frogs a dumb law???
February 11th, 2001, 11:27 PM
Some frogs have a film on their skin that is considered a drug. It causes people to have hallucinations and it is hramful to their bodies. Although it may sound a little ridiculous, I dont feel that outlawing it is dumb.
Just my 2 cents.

I disagree, but then I'm not squeamish like that. I'm also disagree with the proposition that an activity should be made illegal because it causes hallucinations. What's wrong with that? Doing life-threatening things, driving etc, whilst having hallucinations, yes, I don't want too much of that, but why outlaw (responsible) tripping?

What like the "responsible" drinkers out there?? How is one to monitor the responsibility of these frog-licking episodes?? http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/wink.gif Personally I don't know why in all God's creation anyone would WANT to lick a frog.... http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/eek.gif

What great hospitality here! http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/tongue.gif
anyways, this seems to be a great site to talk and debate, so hopefully i shall return here many times to chat with all ya guys about more stuff. In the mean time, its to meet all of you guys too. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif
To seren,
Why not make licking a frog be illegal? I mean, thats just what the world needs is a bunch of hallucinating communities functioning irresponsibly with big warts on their tongues. If we could lick a frog and turn them into prince/princess chraming then id agree with you. But as far as having our cities/states functioning properly, i feel that some action should be in order.

seren they can cause death.
i know some frogs around the world can cause death by just touching them. or geting some of there posion in your blood stream.
that is how some culture in the rain forest catchs what they are going to eat they kill one frog and put there posion on a dart.
then again to much of one thing can cause death (example-taking to much iron)

I agree actually http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif We have that toad in the northern parts of Oz and some people actually kill the toad and *cover your ears Wild* squirt the stuff from the big oily pores on it's back and I think take it oraly (not too sure). But as long as your aware of the effects and as Dipy said, not gonna do life-threatening things whilst taking it....why ban it.....I know I know...ppl go overboard and all and if I were to choose my poison the drugs produced by frogs wouldn't be it but it kinda seems silly to make it illegal.

Glad you like it here, it is a good place for discussion and we are a friendly bunch, even me; I just disagree with you on this issue, that's all. I certainly don't want to see whole communities out of their minds on frog juice or any other substance and I never said I did. I have no problem with the responsible use of mind-altering substances, however. Do I surmise correctly that you've never taken LSD, hallucinogenic fungi, or anything like that? I have, and I tell you from my experience that such responsibility is quite possible. I condemn the ABUSE of any drugs, but not all use is abuse. Do you enjoy a drink? I do, but I don't drink a bottle of Scotch in one session, I don't drink bottle after bottle of wine; I'm responsible with it in terms both of my health and my behaviour, and it's quite possible to do the same with hallucinogens.

I almost fainted during my last blood test cause the nurse kept putting the HUGE bottles of blood right infront of me! It was so gross I first felt like i was going to throw up and then started blacking out, and I woke to her putting a wet washcloth on my forehead(luckilly she was a nice nurse)But I felt dizzy the rest of the day!I think the reason I passed out was cause I had to fast for 12 hours before the test and the medication I was on made me nautious as it was! *eeeeeek* like I sayed, I HATE veins!

Yeah I know what ya mean Wild!!! I had to get a blood test (one of many) and the nurse didn't even tell me to look away...I turned to look at her and realised there was a massive needle sticking out of my arm and started to freak out and shake.....so to make me feel better she says" oh , you probably shouldn't watch this"....yeah, thanx....bimbo http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/frown.gif

You won't beleive this but I was about 15 at the time(and quite a rebelious and wild chic)I was afraid to get my bloodtest done and the lady that started doing it, I told her If she messed up i was gonna stick her with a needle cause my other hand was free! She was nervous about doing it right, but got it the first time! http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Of all things I just read an article(can't find the paper now, ya know memory and all) anyway there is this deadly toad in Florida, it's so big it can hardly move so for defense it lets out this secretation that has already killed some small dogs. So if your in Florida call the fish and game commission if you come across a huge toad.

Those froggy giants sound like Cane Toads, there's lots of them in Oz too, they were released to control aphids or somesuch, and ended up taking over cuz they have no natural enemies there. I once saw a documentary about them, had a film of a guy driving along in his pickup, swerving all over the toad-filled road. He said "Yeah, I try to hit as many of them as possible!"
NM Man's first post seemed to me to be saying that it should be illegal to take any hallucinogens. Any further thoughts on this?
