I heard yesterday that a half dozen former Microsoft employees are suing the company for five billion dollars for discrimination. They claim their careers were hurt because of racial bias. Microsoft says "not so". It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Five billion dollars?

I doubt they will win (the whiners I mean, and I dont think it had anything to do with skin color, just because more of the workers that were fired happened to be a certain color has nothing to do with the color of there skin, its just coincidence that they all happened to be the same color and be stupid http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif*Could happen to anyone,i mean*)

Microsoft Is HUGE,*HUGER than HUGE,*Im sure they have a very good lawyer!

That's a bit somethingy, Wild (sorry, *yawn, stretch* just been having a nap), to say that Microsoft have such good lawyers that you may as well not bother taking them on. I think you're probably right about the sacked people, though. $5billion? Silly money.

What the...??? 5 billion dollars?!?!?:eeks:
Where did they come up with that amount? Fine if they want to sue....it's a free country....but for 5 billion? That is totally ridiculus no one deserves that amount of money because they lost their job...even if it was "racial". Why not ask for a trillion while they're at it?!?! http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif

Some use different census figures to show discrimination. That is, based upon a population, it should be reasonably shown that certain numbers of people should be employed in certain industries.

My understanding is that Blacks only represent about 2% of the State of Washington. Does Microsoft hire about 2%?

Of the Black population, how much reflects those that have the technical background? Is Microsoft hiring about proportional?

The field has a high percentage of "minorities", especially East Indian and Asian.
