From the Atlanta Journal Constitution:
Woman Sues Over 'Girls Gone Wild'
NEW ORLEANS (AP)--A woman who bared her breasts at Mardi Gras and got worldwide exposure has sued the producers of the ``Girls Gone Wild'' videos, claiming they invaded her privacy and used her image without permission.
Becky Lynn Gritzke, a Florida State University business major, admits in her lawsuit that she was among the women who removed their tops at Mardi Gras last year in exchange for beads and trinkets.
A month later, Gritzke said, she was surprised to find out that she not only appeared in the video series featuring women baring their bodies, but was also seen in the TV ad and Web site.
Gritzke is seeking unspecified damages.
Ronald E. Guttman, an attorney for MRA Holdings LLC, the video's producers, said there is no privacy protection for people who take their clothes off in public, especially at a big public event where many people have cameras.
Guttman has asked a Florida court to dismiss the lawsuit, which was filed in September.

I predict the "Girls Gone Wild" producers will counter-sue for frivolous lawsuit and Becky will lose her shirt.

There has been several cases where rapists have been set free just because the lawmen though the woman dressed too !%!%!%!%ty. I guess that's ok with you too?
Doing a crazy thing for a brief moment is one thing... but what says that you have to have your face plastered all over sleazy videotapes becase of that?
Suppose you go to a party one night... and you get sh1tfaced. The morning after your pals have sold the tape to "America's funniest home videos" for 250 million people (+ export to other countries) to see what a total jerk you were while drunk. Would you like that to happen to you? No? But this girl, she obviously kan have it, that dirty whore... at least that's what you guys think.

JStar, there are big differences between what people do in private and what they do in public, and between a consenting act and a nonconsenting act. Ms Gritzke chose to bare her breasts in public, which is fine if she wants to do that. Somebody recorded her, and since she plainly doesn't mind stripping in public - I don't think anybody made her do it - she can't really complain. I don't think for a moment that she's a "dirty whore". She might be a clever self-publicist, for all I know.
I live in the UK, where we get TV of a marginally higher standard than the 'Girls Gone Wild' level, so I doubt I'll get to see what all the fuss is about, not that I'm interested. But SHE brought attention to the fact that she's in the programme - where (I guess) she'd be forgotten quickly enough if she hadn't. It's hardly the first time a pair of breasts have been on TV.
There has been several cases where rapists have been set free just because the lawmen though the woman dressed too !%!%!%!%ty. I guess that's ok with you too? That's a completely different issue - the comparison to rape is ludicrous. Ms Gritzke chose to do what she did.

Any update on this case?

The was the exact same argument in the case.... that the defendant had chosen to dress "!%!%!%!%ty" her self and that she therefore would have to endure the rape.... the argument was that she brought it on herself. So it's not a completely different case... you are arguing in exactly the same way.

JStar, Gritzke exposed herself in public. Somebody recorded her doing so. She then claimed that her privacy had been invaded. How can her privacy have been invaded if she CHOSE to do what she did, in public, deliberately, in front of people, at a huge public event?
Please outline the similarities between 1) rape, and 2) videoing, then broadcasting what somebody chooses to do for fun in public.
Nobody has been raped in this case, and that's not what the lawsuit is about. She's actually mad that somebody else is cashing in on a free topless shot. That's all. If she's that concerned, she shouldn't have got them out. Seems she's too immature to take responsibility for her own choices.

At least her case wasn't thrown out of court for "insufficient evidence."
:wink
This fairly recent practice of comparing every personal insult or violation [however slight] to "rape" dilutes the reality of an actual rape.
And ...as a very sensitive guy of the Old School, it makes me feel as though I've been raped.:D :D :lol

So sue me! :lolThis fairly recent practice of comparing every personal insult or violation [however slight] to "rape" dilutes the reality of an actual rape.I agree. I ate a paella tonight, at least partly because it looked darn good to eat. Some would say that I have the mind of a rapist on those grounds! :D
