Would you check & see why I can't edit my post any more? I get this message when I try...

You do not have permission to access the page that you were trying to. Are you trying to edit someone else's post or trying to access administrative features? Check that you are allowed to perform this action in the Forum Rules.
If you are trying to post, the administrator may have disabled your account, or it may be awaiting activation.

Idnew:

As moderator you owe the members an explanation as to why you removed the edit function.

And while we're at it...

Explain why you forbid others to go off-topic in threads, but you yourself apparently have permission to do so.

Another thing...just curious...there have been a lot of mod actions in the political forum, like threads being moved, threads being stickied, etc.

The mods in that forum are Wildangel and Serendipity. Would either Wildangel or Serendipity please post here and verify that either one of them has undertaken these actions? Reason I ask is that neither mod has posted on this board for at least a month.

I've been wondering exactly the same thing, tig. I've been on boards before, even DU and non-political boards are run exactly the same way this is. That is, moderators assigned to certain subgroups.

I mean I've tolerated my post being stickied in the political forum by a mod who doesn't even moderate the politics forum, maybe even a few posts being moved from the politics into Everything else forum that a mod actually mods.

But it went a bit far when my post got deleted on the Schiavo thread (the post that Phreak noticed had dissappeared), several of my posts got deleted (I had kept posting them several times but gave up, my funny "Bush as Alien!" (a joke picture not meant to be political in any sort of way) was deleted once and I posted it again and it stayed), and my posts got edited to "stay on topic."

But this preventing people editing their posts is going one step too far.

Idnew, I hope you're not going to tell us that you in fact did take away our right to edit our own post..

Most of the time I type my post in a hurry & don't have time to proof read them so when I come back to the board & see words left out or wrong spelling in my post I change it then.. I need the ability to edit my post..

Thank you..

Idnew can you check this out also.. RK is trying to get on the board and sent me this message....

Hey wunch I registered at dumblaws. How long does it take them to ok and registration? I did it like 3-4 days ago but still haven't gotten my activation email from them. I even sent them an E about it yesterday but still haven't heard anything. I just says I am arrested in the profile.

Idnew can you check this out also.. RK is trying to get on the board and sent me this message.... He should have received an email to whatever email addy he used to activate it. I'll check and see if he's activated it.

Yes I did take away the right to edit. Tig shouldn't have a prob with that as he did the same thing on his board. There is a preview before you actually submit your response.

For those that haven't checked the forum leaders on the main page maybe you should do that.

I move topics when to me it has nothing to do with politics which all of you seem to think should go there. I haven't deleted your topic.Explain why you forbid others to go off-topic in threads, but you yourself apparently have permission to do so. Please tell me where I have done that. But this preventing people editing their posts is going one step too far. Well when some people want to deny what they posted this will just prevent that from happening. Ya'll all thank Zen.

Idnew as you know most of the time I agree & support you but taking the edit away from everyone because of Z is heavy handed.

I saw that Z did an edit on her post & she got busted so there was no real harm done..

Please put the edit feature back because I use it a lot to correct my post.

Sometimes you have to remember it's the members that make the board. Without them there will be no need for a board to exist.. Thanks w1che ESQ...

Didn't realize how many of you were editing your posts till I shut you all down.:lol Ok I'll let you edit again but still that's what the preview button is for so you can read over what you typed.

Wunch I'm showing that 32 that have signed up have not confirmed their email addy and one of them is RK so tell him to check if he got an email from DL and this is nothing I can check cause I don't have anyway to see how the board was set up to automatically do it and any email to Andy he won't answer so first let him check that and then if it's still not activating him maybe I can do that. Don't know.

OK thanks Idnew, I will pass the information on.. Maybe that part of the board is not working since the crash if you have as many as 32 that haven't responded. I hope that's not the problem or we will get no new members..
