View Full Version : Worst excuse ever?

I read this in a magazine.
Police are reviewing the video tape out of an ATM. Lady walks up to the ATM after dark, draws out money. Guy comes into the picture, holding a large hunting knife pointed at her. She screams and flees.
It's a good picture, and the cops pull the guy in. Here's what he tells them:
"I was just asking if she wanted to buy an knife!"

Mind you, if the cops don't have a statement from the woman, then what proof do they have? I understand your scepticism, but the evidence is circumstancial...

Good excuse though if he sticks with it. Even if she does make a statement what can she say? Did he take her money or make her get any money?

Horse puckey. There's a difference between "reasonable doubt" and believing any wild-ass story someone drums up to save their butt from prosecution.
In fact, the cops ID'ed the woman from the ATM records versus the video's time stamp. She testified that the man had demanded her money, but did not chase her when she screamed and ran. He was convicted of aggravated robbery and went to jail.
So there.

I agree with David on this one, she did get scared and ran, it WAS on the tape as proof, she wouldnt have gotten scared if she wasnt in fear! Thats like saying "I had a gun to his head yea but I just wanted to sell it to him" lol
But he is in jail so thats good http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/wink.gif
