Buffalo, Okla.-"The only explanation police have is that the two teenagers must have gotten the bank mixed up with the library.
"It's the first attempted library robbery I have ever heard of," policeman Ray Dawson said Thurday. Dawson said the teenagers held out an empty pillowcase and told the library attendant, "Put it in."

The attendant should have dropped the Encyclopaedia Britanica (all 31 volumes) into the bag!

Most Americans never set foot in a public library. I hope those two teenages get plenty of time to read over the next 2-5 years.

Do they provide English classes in the pen?

Maybe they should be required to read the complete works of Jeffrey "I am not corrupt honest" Archer. Or failing that, Dame Barbara "Senile" Cartland. I love my local library. It has such a quality selection of books. If you are female and over the age of 70. No wonder I have a warped view of the worls when I spent my teenage years reading Georgette Heyer because that's what there was. Sorry. Slightly off point here. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif

Actually our librarys are packed with people, and I LOVE the library! I can read there for hours when I'm not picking out too many books to take home to read! Ive read most by true crime author Ann Rule, but mostly love reading documentarys http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif
Unbelievable isnt it???

The university I went to had a library class that was required for graduation.

I used to spend lots of time at the library -- now I'm just collecting books at home.

Trashy historical romances & time-travel romances are my faves -- you only have to read every few pages cuz they're all the same! LOL

Also like sci-fi series & westerns. (How's that for eclectic!)

I have a bunch of good books, but im a mystery person!!! Mainly true storys though like the stuff they show on Lifetime (the womans channel lol) I have read the books before they put the movies on there.
Ann Rule is a really good true story author, my favorite book is "If you really loved me..." its sooo good. About a father that gets his 14 year old daughter to kill his wife (her stepmother) its really good, plus it happened in Orange County, CA where I was raised...spooky...
Also like alot of John Saul books and a few Danielle Steel http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif
