REALLY dumb

This really happened in a town not far from where I live:

Winchester, Oklahoma. A man, distraught because his wife had divorce papers served on him got pissed and burned his garage and barn down so she wouldn't get it. He was in the process of catching the house on fire when the fire dept and police showed up. Our hero, determined not to be taken alive, held police at bay for 2 hours with a .22 semi auto rifle. The local police almost had him talked out when the sheriff's deputy that served him the divorce papers showed up, sending him into a rage once again. A hostage negotiator was summoned from Ok. City and the standoff lasted another 3 hours. Out of the blue, the police heard our mental giant hollering for help. Turns out that in the process of destroying the bedroom, a heavy chest of drawers fell on him, pinning him to the floor. The cops were happy to help him up and to jail.

It's really sad if you ask me, yes it may be dumb what he did but the man is obviously extremely broke down mentally because of this divorce!

It does seem a bit hysterical and smacks of making a grand and empty gesture though! Like the original post said, he only did it so his wife wouldn't get her hands on the property. The words cutting, nose, spite and face spring to mind!
