On the news this morning, we were informed that a former employee of a (now defunct)nuclear processing plant in Landau, had broken in and stolen a phial of radioactive material, which he then took home to his girlfriends flat. He was only discovered, when a routine check with a Geiger Counter revealed abnormally high levels of radiation. The reason behind the theft is unknown.

Heaven is where the police are English, the cars are German, the chefs are French, the lovers are Italian and everything is organised by the Swiss. Hell is where the chefs are English, the police are German, the cars are Spanish, the lovers are Swiss and everything is organised by the Italians.

It already was at the end of last week. As far as I have heard they both suffer under a strange illness since then. Almost as intelligent as the atomic power opponents who jump upon the trains with the dangerous material.

A routine check with a Geiger counter?!? What kind of a place is Landau anyway? I've had government officials stick Gypsy Moth traps on my apple tree, but never show up with Geiger counters for routine inspections.

In the Harald-Schmidt-Show (late night) they had a series some years ago, called "The fat kids from Landau". Didn't know that it was a reality documentation http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif.

I may be wrong about the routine check, I heard it at 8 am, and my German wasn't functioning on all cylinders. But I think that's what they said. Landau is a small industrial town in the Rhineland-Palatinate (western edge of Germany) I think.
