I just seen on the news about 2 minutes ago where a man was charged with manslauter for shooting and killing his wife. Charged again with homicide with a deadly weapon and the last charge is homicide of someone over 65 yrs of age!!!!!!! is it just me or are all of these the same? if they are isn't that like double jepordy? charging him 3 times for 1 offence? WHAT DO YOU THINK??

It does sound like it, but I don't know how the law reads where ever this happened...

Technically he did get charged for 3 seperate crimes, but not three murders. He got charged once for homicide, and additional time was given to him for using a deadly weapon and for murdering an elderly person.

So killing an elderly person is more reprehensible by law than killing a non-elderly? Say, a child, or a teen, or a tax-paying 30, 40, 50 year old? Is not killing a human just that? No matter what the age. In the future will it be a more serious murder based on economic status. Seems that the US has already traveled this road in the past, and I would not like to go back there.

Just thinking the same Dave. Are older people more important? And the killer of a prez would get a much stiffer sentence. Does that mean that human lives have varying degrees of value? I thought that "all men (meaning PEOPLE) were created equal" What if some heroin addict had the same upbringing as g dubya?
