Lots of stuff there.
The old stuff is really fascinating to listen to:

A few examples:
Earliest known recorded music (1888) (http://www.archive.org/audio/audio-details-db.php?collection=opensource_audio&collectionid=EDIS-SRP-0154-17)
Oldest surviving recording of Thomas Edison (1988) (http://www.archive.org/audio/audio-details-db.php?collectionid=aroundworldonphon1888&collection=opensource_audio)

I've been clicking around that site, off-and-on, for the past couple of days... some truly great stuff there.
It's really painful to hear things that you heard/saw as "new" now listed as "archived historical events". :eek
