I went to another bar (one of those "real life" bars...) the other night, it was Quiz Night. Guess who won? :clap Yes, with the help of a small team (it was mostly just me, tho'), we won two rounds of Bubblegum (Bailey's, Blue Curacao, and something else), and the big prize at the end - a bottle of pseudo-champagne and a two-pint pitcher of LegSpreader - about £30 worth of booze. Not bad :) :D

The unfortunate thing about soccer is that the play starts when the whistle goes, carries on for 45 minutes without a break (except short breaks for throw-ins, injuries, etc), then there's 15 mins for halftime, then another 45 mins, without any convenient breaks for advertising. Over here the ads are on the side of the pitch - there's a lot of pitchside hoardings now that are digitised, and so change during the course of a match.

Would you say that's why bigtime TV doesn't cover soccer in the US? Not enough room/time for the advertisers? It certainly isn't because Soccer is a "bad" sport.

well ESPN is covering the world cup, but its on at like 3 AM to 6 AM our time or something. part of the reason is because when the olympics were in sydney people bitched about time delayed events and not seeing things live :rolleyes:

I heard along the grape vine there is no cure but the person has to learn from scratch again. They just published "Dancing from Scratch for Dummies". Proves quite useful.
