New here, looking into a 'dumb law'

It is illegal to buy or sell marijuana, but it is legal to smoke it on your own property.
Can anyone point out the ORS or OARS which states this law? There is much debate about this in the medical marijuana community. Thanks in advance for your help.

Well you can go to the Netherlands and it's perfectly legal.

Is pot legal and available in Amsterdam?

Soft drugs - marijuana (weed/hash) and mushrooms are decriminalized and available in The Netherlands. Weed and hash are available at coffeeshops (the specific name for establishments that sell pot/hash) and mushrooms and other herbal drugs are available at smartshops. You can buy and smoke weed and hash at coffeeshops. You can also visit a coffeeshop and smoke your own, you just have to buy a drink or snack. Most coffeeshops don't sell liquor, but do serve juices (often freshly squeezed/made), coffee, tea and snacks, including hash brownies and space cakes (made from thc-laced butter). Most bars and other establishments do not allow pot smoking. For anyone who is interested, we'll bring you to some coffeeshops and provide some guidance about where to go, what to buy and where to smoke.

I guess your question is referring to the States though so will have to see what we can find on that.

i still partake on occasions when the percosets and motrin don't kill the pain in my arthur-itis when a big storm is coming.. like this week.. got a killer on the way and everything in me hurts .. a couple puffs on a pipe and i'm good for a few hours, so i can get up and move around. :)
