Throw the book at her:
Coulter Voting Case to Prosecutors?
By BRIAN SKOLOFF
Associated Press Writer

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — Conservative columnist Ann Coulter has refused to cooperate in an investigation into whether she voted in the wrong precinct, so the case will probably be turned over to prosecutors, Palm Beach County's elections chief said Wednesday.

Elections Supervisor Arthur Anderson said his office has been looking into the matter for nearly nine months, and he would turn over the case to the state attorney's office by Friday.

Coulter's attorney did not immediately return a call Wednesday. Nor did her publicist at her publisher, Crown Publishing.

Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Not exactly Tig. What she said was she would not put it in writing because it would be immediately leaked to the press by the Democrat DA. Something he has been doing since the beginning of this investigation. Her lawyer said he would meet in person with the DA, however the DA has refused that because then all he could give to the press is hearsay. Its not a matter of arrogance its a matter of privacy and a DA that has a vendetta against a well known conservative.

Stupid argument. If the Lawyer meets in person with the DA, a written record will be taken. Following your logic, the DA would immediately turn the deposition over to the press, which is exactly what Ms. Coulter doesn't want. Moreover, the deposition would be written down according to the DA office's bias, which would be even worse than Coulter providing a statement herself.

Essentially she is trying to stonewall the investigation as long as possible, because she obviously is guilty.

Good to know that convicted felons lose their right to vote :)

I'm wondering what this has to do with politics. What office is Ann running for again?

If the Lawyer meets in person with the DA, a written record will be taken. Following your logic, the DA would immediately turn the deposition over to the press, Not unless the Lawyer agrees to it and you have to be summoned for a deposition to take place. The Lawyer just asked to meet with the DA.

Knowingly voting in the wrong precinct is a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. Key word here being "knowingly"

What political meaning does this thread have? Moving it.........

Well I don't know how they vote elsewhere but here our names are on a list at each precinct to show if we are supposed to vote there and we have to show our voters card and then sign our name under our name that is on their list.

after reading about the same topic on ann's message board, i have seen the following conclusions:

ann registered to vote using her realtor's address.. so that she wouldn't have to reveal her new home addy to all the fruitcakes that would like to do dastardly things to her..

she didn't actually vote, she went to the polling place, was told she was at the wrong station, and left.. WITHOUT VOTING.... so no CRIME was committed.

this happened over 9 months ago in a local DA election, and she has not voted in florida since that time. she has now changed her address to her new home that she recently bought, and may or may not vote in tuesday's election.

this is just another witchhunt by a demonrat da in palm beach county to try and give her grief, which IMO she was justified in not giving her actual address when she registered to vote, as nutcases like the DA and others would be egging her house or trying to blow it up etc etc.

notice nothing is said about michael moore being registered to vote in TWO states, Michigan and New York, which is a blatant violation of federal law.. why isn't he being persecuted ????? and on that note, he hasn't voted either.. in either state.. so where is his patriotism eh??
