Fake Law:
It's illigal for a Redneck to come within 3 miles of a person who is not stereotyped as a Redneck. You would know if you're stereotyped as a Redneck because it would be stated on your liscense or other form of ID. If you are a Redneck and you come within 3 miles of a person who is not stereotyped as a Redneck you will have your hunting, fishing, etc. liscenses taken away, you're pick-up truck towed, and all of your deer heads, stuffed Racoons, etc., taken away and disposed of.

and what you got agin Rednecks son?
It's Rednecks that done built this country, fit it's wars to keep your fat a$$ free, and provide you the food you eat and possibly even the clothes you wear. If it weren't for us rednecks you would be speaking German or Russian, and wishing they would let you out of the Gulag.
Hippie Redneck, and damn proud of it!

my stepdad's a Redneck...and all he's ever done for me was kick me and my mom out, or get drunk and yell at me about how lazy and useless I am. Sure maybe some of them are alright, but not enough of them
P.S. I'm a girl, so please don't call me son...appreciate it

Hmmm, sounds like your dad is more the "trailer trash" variety of redneck, which most all other rednecks point and laugh at when they dare show their face around "respectable" rednecks.
and 'son' is an appropriate term of address, when the exact "nature" of the person being addressed is unknown. Look it up in the redneck handbook, before getting all huffy on me.
You DO have your redneck handbook don't you? You wouldn't go off denigrating and disparaging rednecks without at least studying up on them, now would you?:p :D ;)

Hippie-Redneck? No Diz, Choose one te other. My Redneck handbook sez "death ta all hiipies-YEE Hawww". My hippie handbook says "Tolerate all rednecks-Good Karma". BTW, it was the isolationist rednecks who made us wait soo long before helping our Brit cousins back in the 40's. I guess life was good with all those Yankee $$ at TVA!:p

Yes I would. 'Cause I wouldn't be able to finish the book if I got it. I'd probably burn it, and of coarse he's white/trailer trash, but if there's a difference then there's a s**t load of white/trailer trash Rednecks around here 'cause I've yet to find one that wasn't a drunked A**hole.

Why dave, don't you know, there are all kinds of rednecks in this world, you just have to know what to look for when trying to "catagorize" them.
Us hippie rednecks are also known as space cowboys or cosmic cowboys. It is a mistaken belief by some, that we all burnt out on LSD or other "strange brews" back in the 70's, which is not true, not all hippie rednecks used drugs, we just acted like we did to freak out other rednecks.
Down here and further west, you got the cowboy rednecks, who basically are ranch and farm hands or owners, mostly rural, salt of the earth kind of folk. Some of the best people you would ever want to meet.
There is a whole passel of "urban" type rednecks, and truth be told, some of em are not much better than them trailer trash rednecks that Monkeyz is complaining about. Classifying them generally depends on what type of pickem up truck they is driving, and what type of job they do. Also, their "attitude" plays into it a bit, most of the "good" rednecks would never raise a hand to a woman, no matter how drunk they were, cause their Mama raised them to not hit a woman. ( this can be a disadvantage now a days, since there are a few women out there who have no problems at all on raising their hand against a man. )
Nope, when you get down to it, Jeff Foxworthy and those other comics never got much below the surface of who and what a redneck may be, and they left out the taxology of the breed. We rednecks are a varied and colorful lot that enjoys a great diversity of peoples and beliefs. Why, I wouldn't be surprised if even presidents would fit the name!:lol :p :D :p :lol

This is my philosophy.
There are two kinds of hicks - rednecks from the south and western cowboys. Texans can be rednecks, cowboys, Mexicans, Cubans, oil tycoons, or part of the Bush family, which is a mixture of renecks, cowboys, and oil tycoons.

Dizz-- C- on the dissertation. A little short! Don't get me wrong, I've been called about everything on the planet. Even an "elitist" on this board! Orphan redneck from Dakota Territory. I love redneck humor! My post was in jest, please accept it as such. Rhubarb pie and Dandelion wine forever!!

Though, to a purist, does a redneck not have to have a neck that is red? Which is acquired by being a white agricultural worker who spends too much time working in the sun.
Have these people never heard of sunblock? Y'all could be known as "golden-brownnecks" if'n y'all had jis' gone to the drugstore... (apologies for my bad accent - I'm still gittin' - sorry, getting - the hang of it :D )

Dippy, we didn't have sunblock! But, dammit, I'm a white agricultural worker that spent too much time in the sun! Guess I'm one step below the "golden-brownnecks". But now I have something to aspire to!!:lol

 So, Aclu, what does that theory of your's make me? I'm a Texan, but not an oil tycoon, Mexican, Cuban, part of the Bush family (as far as I'm aware anyways....), or a cowboy (for one thing I am NOT male as has been mistakingly thought many times, especially here, & for another thing, even if you changed it to be cowgirl, I still don't qualify seeing as I've only ridden a horse once), & although I am white, I do not work in agriculture, so therefore, I'm not a redneck. So what am I then? A misfit?

ah but humans by 'default' are female since we all start as one ;)
so therefore when the gender is unknown the correct way would be to address them as feminine :)
