Where is MANITOWOC?
They had in my opinion no legal grounds to force him to take a blood test. He wasn't driving or anything for God's sake, he was on his own property. *goes to tell daughter to stop sun bathing on the trampoline in the nude*
Now if he was parading around naked he at least should have been out of sight from the neighbors unless he had something to really show off. J/K
That's a pretty stiff sentence and if it was me I would have to appeal it. I appeal everything though. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

They have every right to arrest him. If he was in the back yard with a privacy fence that is one thing, but parading around the front yard, and then sitting in the open garage is another. Families with small children could be driving by.
I'd also say they had no right to make him take a blood test. As someone said he wasn't driving or anything like that. He wasn't endangering anyone.

And what would happen then? A small child might see this man's pikestaff, and then the whole world would go completely skewiff in a
whirlpool of immorality and widespread debauchery. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif American sexual hangups are screamingly funny, you know. http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif Children can cope with incidental adult nudity better than most adults can, whilst sexual repression and censorship can lead to paedophilia - just look at the many Catholic ministers who've been charged with child abuse if you want evidence of that.

Id, Manitowoc, Wisconsin is located about 60 miles north of Milwaukee. But any way, regarding the blood tests:
I don't think under Wisconsin law a sobriety test can be demanded except in cases of drunk driving, and even then breath tests are used. Blood tests are usually only used in cases where the suspect has been involved in an accident and is transported to a hospital. (For the sticky legal details, I'll have to consult Dad the Milwaukee cop. *e-mailing Dad now*)
But what gets me is the ambulance showing up: shouldn't that be used for medical emergencies? http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/rolleyes.gif A Manitowoc squad could've got him to the station for a Breathalyzer more quickly, and would've been more efficient, given his behavior at the time.

*L* You are right. I personnally think you europeans have it right, the human bady is natural and there is nothing wrong with seeing it in it's natural form. I also believe in a parents' right to raise his/her/their children the way they want. And if they wish to prevent their children from seeing nude adults, that shouldn't be thrown out the window because some guy needs to parade around naked. The majority of Americans don't want to see it (unless of course he's cute, in which case he should learn to dance and join the Chippendale's) and, while minority ights are protected, the majority rules here.

Dippy it is a bit ridiculous for you to bring up religion because a person does not want to see (or they do'nt want there child to see) a naked person walking around.
I personally myself, weather it be preference, or what I am accustomed to, do NOT want to see a man walking around naked in public unless I am visiting a nude beach or something!
The thing about the catholic preist, there were a few that were pediphiles yes (a FEW)

just like there are many atheists that become serial killers!
Religion has nothing to do with it.

Point taken, Wild; I do have it in for organised religion to an extent, but the point I was making was about sexual repression. I know many Catholics who have huge sexual hangups which can be directly related not to their faith (which I respect), but to the indoctrination they received as children. Over here (UK) of course it's a tiny proportion of Catholic ministers who are convicted child abusers, but there's an alarmingly high proportion of convicted child abusers who are Catholic ministers. And the Roman Catholic Church does everything it can to influence her followers' sexual behaviour and attitudes. That is why I used the RC as an example. I like my Catholic friends, but I don't respect the organisation.
Back On Topic:
I agree, it's a stupid waste of a medic squad's time. Waste of police time too.
"This just in: A man was walking in his backyard in the nude and a poor innocent eleven-year-old girl nextdoor was jumping on her trampoline. She happened to glimpse the man's naked arse and was instantly vaporized. The man is currently in jail, being held under the charge of manslaughter."
I really have no understanding for the average American's horror at the sight of another naked human being. Granted, some naked bodies are not the most pleasent to view, but if some one wanted to go walking down the sidewalk wearing only a Walkman, I could care less. Lighten up America!

In his private life the man can do whatever he wants to do - as long as others aren't complaining. I wouldn't want to see my neighbour sitting naked in front of his garage, so the Police was absolutely right here. I only wonder if the Police had reacted like that if the person was a woman. Men's nakedness is seen as sexual whereas naked women are considered to be beautiful (in general I absolutely support that view http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/smile.gif, but a) I don't want to see all women naked and b) at least the German constitution says that men and women have to be treated equal).

Hello does anyone realize that this guy was on his own propetory! He has any right to be naked I would think. The police and medics don't need to involved anyway. If the nieghborhood wants to sue him I say let them. If he is a regisered nudist or people know about his "fondness" than he should be undesturbed.

Careful, no, you can't do whatever you want on your property. He can run around naked in his house or in the garden if he has high fences, but you can't sit in front of his garage where others can feel offended.

You guys are right on the topic of being visable. I don't find it that offending but familes with small children might. I think Serendipity is right about it. If someone sees his pikestaff who cares. Is a bank going to be robbed because of it. Children don't care anyway-do they? And why should people even be looking at the guy that much.

Anyone familiar with us Wisconsinites would agree that there should be laws against our being seen naked. We generally live on beer, cheese, and bratwurst, and it shows.
BTW, I saw a HILARIOUS news article about prosperous Canadian businessmen who've discoved a Muscle Beach type resort in Florida. They've run off all the jetset hard-bodies by parading around in Speedos trying to soak up as much Florida sunshine as possible during their winter vacation. And they've got a LOT of skin to soak up sunshine with. The resort's making more money than ever, and they've expanded the menu!

Not been caught? I agree, but I'd like to add that it's certainly not restricted to the Roman Catholic faith. They've been in the news lately, that's why I mentioned them. I understand the RC Church is not (as it had been for a long while) completely burying its head in the sand, they've done something about it now.
Anyway, that's a side issue.... http://www.dumblaws.com/ubb/biggrin.gif

Thank you. I will. I completely agree that it's not simply a Catholic issue. This "problem" must permeate through any area where people - men AND women - are sexually or emotionally stifeled (sp?).
