It is legal to own a car without a windshield, but illegal to own one without windshield wipers.

A cowork of my dad's was pulled over and the officer checked to see if he had windshield wipers when he was driving an older model car without a windshield.
 Question: what use are they if you don't have a window!?!?! Why aren't officers worrying more about people speeding that people without windshields!

Welcome to Dumb Laws, Perfect :)

I agree, the police are being silly. I wish it was possible to drive without a windshield over here (UK), but it rains so much... :lol:cry

Look at your windshield and you'll see why you need one. You'll find cracks from stones that are thrown from other cars. If you were hit by these it could hurt or possibly kill you going 60 MPH. Checking for wipers when the windshield is missing is just plain stupid...

Hey, paulgro, how about motorcycles that don't have windshields? We're still alive.:wave
